Short Description – Scientific interests: 

Athina Kantzioura is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace, specializing in “Energy and Environmental Design in the Built Environment: Interaction between Buildings and the Urban Environment,” since 2025. Her academic teaching experience includes undergraduate and postgraduate courses on energy and environmental design of the built environment, the study and optimization of urban microclimate conditions, the assessment of thermal comfort in buildings and outdoor spaces, as well as the analysis of the energy and environmental performance of buildings, combined with the supervision of diploma and master’s theses. Her research and publication work is reflected in international and Greek publications in scientific journals, conferences, and book chapters.
