Short Description – Scientific interests:
Argiro Dimoudi is Professor at ‘Science and technology of structures with emphasis on environmental and energy design’ and the Director of the Environmental and Energy Design of Buildings and Settlements Laboratory at the Department of Environmental Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. She has extensive experience on aspects of energy conservation and RES in buildings and settlements, environmental friendly materials, energy regulations, microclimate and outdoor spaces bioclimatic design. She has experience as co-ordinator, project manager and researcher in research, demonstration and non-technological projects on energy and sustainability in buildings and cities. Ongoing research includes co-ordination of the Interreg Balkan-Med project “ZenH Balkan – Towards Zero energy Hospitals in the Balkan region” and scientific responsible for DUTH at the Interreg Greece – Bulgaria project “Culture Dipole” for renovation of a listed building into a nearly zero energy (NZEB) Art Gallery. Energy consultant at the first large scale designs and construction of open spaces in Greece with bioclimatic criteria. Member of the working groups of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TCG) for the development of the Technical Guides (TG.TCG) in support of the ‘National Regulation for Energy Efficiency of Buildings’. Author in several books and papers in highly cited international scientific journals and conferences.
